What is Wing Chun
Wing Chun Kung Fu is considered one of the most effective forms of unarmed combat known and practised throughout the world. The Wing Chun system is approximately 400 years old and was created by a Buddhist Nun named Ng Mui.
Wing Chun's female creator took note of physical differences between men and women, therefore the emphasis is not upon force & strength to succeed, but the use of skilful hand and footwork combined with speed & technique to overcome opposition in the shortest possible time!

What sort of people attend?
Over 500 people per week attend our centre and we can obviously only comment on existing clientele. Our students' age profile ranges from 7-14 in the junior classes with boys & girls alike attending. Our senior classes reflect the fact that age and current physical ability do not restrict participation as this form of Martial Art does not rely upon size and strength. Normally classes have men and women participating together with an age profile of 17-60.
